Finally, out with the old carpet and in with the New Carpet!

old carpet - master bedroom
old carpet circa 1994 - ugh! Good ridance to high-low carpet...
this was what came out of our house!
10 lb. memory pad being laid
New carpet in living area.
new carpet in guest bedroom.

Since Dec. 2001 we have anxiously anticipated the day when we would recarpet our home. Finally..... it's done. Dad did way too much with very little help but it is so worth it. Wish the pix showed the texture and feel of this gorgeous carpet.

Weekend camping get-away

A wonderful camping weekend turning into a disaster averted. Camping at Honeyman State Park - car shows in Reedsport, fishing at Selcox Lake, trips to Florence for good old fashioned A&W Root beer floats, camp fires, resting, relaxing, watching all the off road 4 wheelers on the dunes, truck getting stuck requiring hours of man power and truck power to get it out of the soft sand only for us to catch a glimpse of him returning to the dunes the following day. The final meal of marinated sirloin steak, fried red potatoes and corn on the cob..... yummy! and then..... John taking too big a bite - 8 1/2 hours of wretching trying to free the meat from his throat, a trip at 2:30 a.m. to Florence hospital where all attempts to free the meat failed and finallly a surgical removal of the meat from his esophagus, hospital stay, follow up. Towing a trailer, never attempted before, generosity of strangers coming to my assistance in hooking up trailer and replacing stabilizer bar as it fell off several times during transit. Being frightened alone in a dark trailer in an empty parking loat of the hospital - freeeeeeezing! John's fine, hopefully learned not to eat big pieces of anything. Until the next time. What a weekend - the good, the bad, and the UGLY! Thanks to Ryan, Michelle and family who really helped ME out in my time of need dealing with the situation. I love and appreciate you coming all the way to Florence. Mom ( oh and forgetting a camera)

Our beloved companion passed away

Buddy - 10/1995 - 7/1/2009 - Today our beloved faithful companion passed away. We were both present as he quietly slipped away from us. We have share tender moments of Buddy that made us cry, laugh and hold wonderful memories near our heart. His purpose in our life was to love us. He was with John at his feet daily in the office. He went everywhere with us. What joy he has brought to all our lives. Big brother Lane especially since he started by sharing his bed at night. Remember "tossing" doritos to him, he never missed. He is close to us in spirit. No other can ever replace this best friend. We celebrate his life and all he brought us. No words can express our gratitude for this little guy in our lives. We love you Bud - rest in peace! Mom and Dad

My very HAPPY Birthday!!!

Happy birthday to ME as I turn 63! .... I had wonderful gifts and cards from my sons and daughters and grandchildren. I love you all. What more could an old woman want? Dad took me to a show, Star Trek which was fabulous and bought me a strawberry cake (very little left day after....) and gorgeous red roses. Isn't he wonderful? I just can't think of a better birthday, other than spending it actually with all four sons and families. TWO YEARS from May 23rd - please join us as I QUIT my job (at 65 - not one day older) ...... 5/23/11 and leave immediately for Oahu - North Shore AGAIN. That is my dream and hopefully will keep me going for another two years at mental health. LOVE YOU ALL. Good friends and great family.

Saturday in Roseburg for Easter -
soccer & Piano recital!!! Our only pic of Alison was too dark,
no camera flashes allowed, sorry Ali.
Get it Chase - SCORE! (Chase in green in middle)

Chase is the star.... very intense - (middle in green)
watch him go! He scored 4 or 5 goals.

Cooper seemed a little bored.
Probably thinking about baseball! How many years?

We're at the " soccer game" starring Chase!!!
Cooper's not a big soccer fan - looked more at spectators.

Knitting friends

Our friends Mike and Vickie came to visit a few days. We ate good snacks, meals, shopped and played cards together. Considering that Vickie's sister doesn't look too similar to her and I don't look too similar to my sister, funny how people always think we are sisters. Same hair, glasses, and our "must have" favorite tee shirts from Eddie Bauer. Vickie was teaching me how to knit dish cloths. Fun, huh???

Mason & Buddy

Considering how frightened Mason was of Buddy when they first came to visit in October, then again in December. You can see they've become fast friends. Buddy loved to walk with Mason. Too cute!

Christmas time is one of our favorite times of the year with our children, their spouces and our grandchildren.

Look, Santa did make a visit on Christmas Eve.

Your mother created the above collage of this past Christmas Holiday. Unfortunately Sean and his family were not able to attend, but our love is with him and all his family members.
Families are Eternal!

May God Bless our Family!

Your mother and your Nana has made so many Christmas Stockings for each member of the family throughout the years, and you can see a small portion of them hung near the window. We enjoy meeting with all our family members anytime we can get together and love each and everyone of our children, their spouces, and our grandchildren. Thank you all for the "Kodak Memories" and for building the Forsloff Family Traditions.
