On the way back to Newport, we got some of these photos.

Camping trip at Winchester Bay

Night view.
This little motor is what turns the big light below on some special rollers 7/24.
Alison is up in the tower right near the light that is turning. The lamp that is on is only a 1000 watts, with a spare off to the right side of the one on.
Inside the lighthouse looking straight up. Everything has been completely refurbished.
You can see one light is always on and the other (right of the one that is on) is just a spare.

Outside view looking up.
Chase and Alison pose inside the refurbished lighthouse. Enlarge the photo and look at brass sign above Chase and Alison for some history of the lighthouse.
Outside view of the Umpqua Lighthouse, 65' tall. The lightouse signal broadcasts it's light out up to 19 miles out to sea. There is only a 1000 watt bulb, but because of how light is transfered through special optics is just why those out at sea can see and know which lightouse they are seeing for bearings.
